- BETWEEN WARS -
Gaza Strip, 2014
Trapped in the Gaza Strip by an eight year Israeli siege, having survived three wars in six years and less than a year after the latest military operation, many in Gaza fear and ask themselves when will be the next.
The last Israeli military offensive in July 2014 against the Palestinian movement Hamas in control of the densely populated enclave was the bloodiest, ending with close to 2200 people killed, the majority Palestinian civilians. On the Israeli side 66 soldiers and 6 civilians were killed.
This series goes in search of what is the daily human and physical default landscape in the Gaza Strip between consecutive Israeli military offensives on the Palestinian enclave, when there are no signs of significant reconstruction taking place, and at the times when all the cameras are pointed elsewhere.
